On September 2, 2022, Tony Cobos was a featured panelist speaker at the 17th Annual Advanced Texas Administrative Law Seminar sponsored by the University of Texas School of Law. Mr. Cobos’ presentation focused on the agency use of experts as well as strategic and practical considerations on the selection, preparation and presentation of defense experts.
As disciplinary matters require the agencies to prove a standard of care or professional breach by the testimony of their own experts, license holders are well advised to consult with experienced legal counsel to proactively consider a defense expert to rebut and defend against possible agency action. Persuasive defensive responses with expert reports or testimony may be possible with client and expert preparation on the issues.
